T H E F I R S T L I G H T

Candle making started as a way to reuse interesting antique items. I bought some lovely, old silver, Harrods cream jugs and sugar bowls with the idea to find a new way to use these beautiful items. I settled on reusing them as candle holders, so taught myself candle making and from there, as they say, the rest is history.

Now our range has expanded to our hand beaten polished steel pots, our original designed, hand thrown, ceramic pots, wax melts and diffusers. We also do commission work and still the odd unique antique piece.

I am still passionate about recycling and reusing things so all our packaging is recyclable and our containers can be reused in a number of ways or you can send it back to us for a refill!

T H E P R O C E S S

From my workshop I hand blend a mix of scents with vegan, soy wax. I only use Soy wax as it is not only a sustainable product but it also does not release harmful toxins into the environment. It also has a much slower burning time so you get more beautiful scents for longer.

The next step is to then hand pour the heavenly scented wax into our reusable containers. The curing process then starts, this will take a week. Once the wax has naturally cooled the candle wicks are hand cut and placed into their white presentation boxes, tied with a black bow and have their labels applied. They are then ready for dispatch around the globe.

To complement the scent range of the candles we also have diffusers. These are also all hand blended and hand poured into their glass diffuser bottles; then they are ready for packaging. They come with five reeds, so are ready to go as soon as you receive them.
